Summer is packed with opportunities for York Little League players to stay on the field, build their skills, and have fun competing with friends. Whether your player is selected for an All-Star team, joins the KTB summer league, or participates in the new Softball Summer Series, there’s something for everyone. Below you’ll find details on each program and how to get involved.

🥎 NEW! Summer Softball Opportunity

Calling all softball players! Here is another great chance to keep playing interleague games throughout the summer. Games will be held a couple days each week, with a relaxed schedule that makes it easy to participate even if you have vacations or other commitments.

• Season Dates: Starts the week after July 4th and runs for 6 weeks
• Game Schedule: Two games per week - one on Sundays and one on a weekday
• Teams: We expect to field 10U and 12U teams
• Cost: TBD. Would cover the cost of a jersey
• Registration Deadline: July 1

York Little League All-Star teams represent our community in district tournaments and beyond. Players are selected based on performance, commitment, and sportsmanship, with practices and games running through early to mid-July.

⚾ KTB Summer League (a.k.a. "Backyard Boys")

The KTB League is a fun and competitive summer baseball program for 8U, 10U and 12U players, offering games throughout the season. It's a great way to keep playing after the spring season ends. This program runs from the beginning of July through the first weekend in August.

🥎 York Summer Softball League

Last year was such a hit that we’re expanding into an all York softball league! We're gauging interest to figure out how many teams we can form for this inaugural season. Please take a moment to fill out our quick survey by June 9th. Your responses will help us organize teams and create a schedule to ensure we have enough players in each age group to make the games fun and fair. Games will start up towards the end of June with likely two games/week. Registration will be under $40 and include a shirt and end of season party! (and likely a few ice creams)

YSS is all about keeping the game enjoyable, developing skills, and fostering sportsmanship in a relaxed environment. We hope you'll join us for a summer of softball fun!

Nor’easters Mariner Baseball Camps

• Dates: Multiple sessions throughout the summer (see flyer for full schedule)
• Locations: Various fields across Southern Maine
• Who: Typically ages 7–12 (varies by session)
• Details: Half-day camps focused on baseball fundamentals, skill development, and fun. Each week is run by the Nor’easters Baseball staff.

• Who: Youth ages 7-15
• Cost: $150 per player
• Details: Campers will receive instruction in fielding, hitting, and base running. All campers receive a t-shirt.

Georgetown University & Portland Sea Dogs Baseball Camp

• Dates: July 28–30
• Locations:
  • July 28–29: Wainwright Sports Complex, South Portland
  • July 30: Hadlock Field, Portland
• Who: Youth baseball players of all ages
• Details: Hosted by Georgetown Head Coach and Maine native Edwin Thompson, this fun and instructional camp includes skill development at all positions, hitting, and baserunning. The final day features on-field activities and autographs with Sea Dogs players.

A Note From Coach Thompson:

My name is Edwin Thompson I am the head baseball coach at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. More importantly I am from Jay, Maine and very proud to be from Maine!

I am currently in my 5th year as the head coach at Georgetown and overall, in my 21st year coaching college baseball. I am also the only Maine native that is a head coach at the division I level. I started my journey at University of Maine at Farmington, Bates College, Duke University, Georgia State, Eastern Kentucky. I have also coached with USA Baseball since 2013.

I have been blessed to have an amazing baseball journey and each year I have been coming back to Maine to run youth camps to try to pass along what I have learned in 21+ years a coach and former professional baseball player to the next generation of baseball players from Maine. For the second year in a row, I am working with the Portland Sea Dogs to run their summer baseball camp July 28-30. Last year we had over 70 kids and I expect that number to grow this year. This camp is held at Wainwright Sports Complex in South Portland for the first two days and the last day it is held at Hadlock Field.

I first want to thank you for all that you do for baseball in Maine, I am reaching out to you to see if you can pass along the link to the website to share with all of your coaches and parents in your organization?

My coaching staff is current college coaches, former/current college players, and I will be running the camp the entire week.

The camp is fun, with fundamental skills, to advance skills and drills and we will cover all positions, baserunning, hitting etc. The other special part is playing at Hadlock Field and meeting some Sea Dogs players and coaches to get autographs.

My goal is to allow everyone that wants to have the opportunity to attend my camps, so I have sibling rates, team rates and discounts for those that can't afford the full price.
