York Little League is proud to announce that its first-ever entry in the annual Festival of Lights Parade was awarded “Best Children’s Float” this past weekend. The float, designed as festive back-to-back holiday dugouts, celebrated the theme of community, teamwork, and the spirit of the season.
What began as a simple idea quickly grew into a vibrant display of creativity, thanks to an enthusiastic team of families and volunteers who built the float from the ground up. Their collaboration brought energy, imagination, and holiday magic to this year’s parade—making York Little League’s debut entry truly shine.
“We were thrilled to participate in the parade for the first time,” said Nic Scott, York Little League President. “This award is a testament to the dedication of our families, the creativity of our volunteers, and the incredible community spirit that makes York such a special place to live and play.”
The float featured holiday-themed dugouts celebrating baseball and softball in York, symbolizing the league’s ongoing commitment to building community both on and off the field. Players and families walked alongside the float, sharing the joy of the season with parade spectators.
York Little League extends heartfelt thanks to all who contributed their time, tools, imagination, and holiday cheer. The league also sends warm wishes to the entire community for a wonderful holiday season.
“We can’t wait to see everyone back on the ballfield this spring and in our clincs this winter,” the league added.
