Dear York Little League Parents,

It is with deep regret that I’m writing to let you know that we’ve decided to cancel our 2020 season for both baseball and softball. We truly understand how disappointing this will be for kids and parents alike, and we want you to know that the Board did not come to this decision lightly. We too are extremely disappointed. But the safety of our community has to remain our top priority, and after a lot of discussion, it has become clear that there would be no way to ensure everyone’s safety in the current environment.  

While the typical season you have grown accustomed to is not happening this season, we remain hopeful that we might be able to offer some level of play later in the summer. Some possibilities could include opportunities to play in smaller groups, clinics to promote skills maintenance, and events that would allow kids and parents to maintain a sense of camaraderie. Please continue to look for emails from us, and be sure to check for updates on our Facebook page (under York Little League–Maine).

Here are some important details for you to know about:

With no season, we need to make sure your registration money is taken care of. There are a few options:

1.Receive a complete refund (minus the $3 processing fee)

2. Get a credit to carry over to next season’s registration cost

3. Make a donation to York Little League

Please send an email to [email protected] with your child’s name and how you would like your registration fees to be handled. Because of the large number of registrants, please allow 30 days for us to process. 

We greatly appreciate your patience as we have been navigating this situation. We know this hasn’t been easy for you or your kids. Please let them know that we hope to see them sometime soon, and in the meantime, to get outside and work on those skills.
